Introduction of the country Somalia- ISA

As part of the ISA action plan, the Nursery department conducted an activity to acquaint children with the culture, tradition, costumes and food of Somalia. The objective of the activity was to enhance the awareness among students about the cultural backgrounds of other countries and make them global citizens. 

Children were asked if they were aware of their own country, its cultural and traditional backgrounds. They were encouraged to point to India and Somalia in the world map. Later, they were shown the flags of both the countries.  

Students enjoyed working on the map of Somalia by doing sponge printing in the map.They also pasted a white colour star shape on it.

Through this activity, students were explained  about the nature of cultural identity, cross-cultural differences, acquire flexibility and openness in adapting to other cultures.
