AHM's Message

When those two little feet board the school bus and one reluctant hand waves a bye bye to the anxious parents standing on the bus stop, the mother wonders,what all her child does in school and the father steels himself reiterating his faith in the school he had so carefully chosen. To provide answers to such gnawing questions and to etch the accomplishments of our little heroes in gold, we are glad to bring out our first endeavor ‘uhao-the foundation’ for you.

This maiden venture of Pre Primary encases in its pages the joyful journey of learning together that all Ahlconites undertake in Pre Primary. Together we embark on a new voyage everyday- exploring the wondrous world of creativity through the eyes of children. They bask in the glory of sunshines and rainbows and we take a pleasant dip into the world of wonder with them, reliving our childhood in their laughter and cheerful cries. Children have taught us-

Such is the charismatic presence of children that in spite of having attained degrees and diplomas from

prestigious universities, our team of teachers do not wish to leave them for more rewarding jobs or positions.

This firm bonding can be witnessed in the pages you are about to flip.

We are the foundation layers and each of us is acutely aware of the responsibility that rests on our shoulders.We all are highly indebted to our visionary Dr.Rohini Ahluwalia who inspires us to

make our teaching value based having a global perspective. Our mentors, Mr. A.K.Pandey and Ms. Anju Gupta have deep rooted faith in their team and they keep guiding us at every step, carefully carving our path to perfection. They provide us with their unflinching support, training opportunities and the best infrastructure to make our learning journey rich and enjoyable.

Child protection

On the 26^th of November’16, a very important and much needed 

session on Child Protection was organized in Ahlcon International 

School for parents of the children studying in the Pre-primary 

classes. The session was also witnessed by the Principal 

Mr. Ashok K Pandey, AHM Ms. Sunita Rajiv and the teachers of 

the Pre-primary wing.

The session was held in two parts with two different speakers. The 

first speaker for the day was Ms. Bhawani Sharma, Secretary East

 DLSA. She spoke in detail about the various legal aspects related 

to child sexual abuse. She informed the parents about the POCSO 

Act and its sections that are meant for child protection against 

sexual offences. She also told them about the procedures to follow

 if a case of any sexual violation against a child comes to notice.

The second speaker for the session was Ms. Diana Cherian. What 

she wanted to convey through the session was the need for people

 to break the silence on the sensitive subject of child sexual abuse. 

In a country like India, where the society is quite conservative and 

reserved, people need a wake up jolt rather than a wakeup call 

when touching such subjects and Ms. Cherian’s aim was to try and 

be that spark of ignition for the audience present there. She went in 

detail about why children are not able to or don’t communicate 

about being abused. What role we as a community play, being 

ignorant and avoiding the subject and how to turn things around for

 safe guarding the child and being their safety net and strength as a 

parent by breaking away stepping up from societal pressure and 

embarrassment.

She explained about what all is considered as child sexual abuse 

which contains both physical contact and non-physical contact. She

 also explained the psychological effects and scars that is left after 

and how that affects the future of that child. Overall it was an 

emotionally engaging session which the parents appreciated. A lot 

of them left with a new found strength to be a stronger parent, 

some of them had their imaginary blind folds untied and strewn 

away for good.

The session ended with a vote of thanks by AHM Ms. Sunita Rajiv

 and a hopeful note of shattering the silence on child sexual abuse 

and come together as parents and a community to protect and 

secure the future, the children.

Inter Class Solo Dance Competition - Prep

We, the children of Prep D conducted the assembly on Thanksgiving on 24th November, 2016. Karampreet Ma'am spoke to us about the festival which is celebrated in USA. A thought was recites by Samaira Jain and we sang a song. We presented a small skit on Thanksgiving. We also thanked the didis, bhaiyas and gardener of our School by giving them Thank You cards.

The students of Prep also had their Solo Dance Competition on the same day. Our friends danced beautifully and we enjoyed a lot.

The best part about the assembly was the last Dance on Bum Bum bole as the Nursery parents danced on the stage with us. Our HM Ms. Anju Gupta addressed the audience with her valuable words.
