‘Rhythm in Motion’
An In-house workshop on ‘Rhythm ln Motion’ was conducted by Pre-Primary teachers Ms.Kakoli Logani, Ms. Tanu Mathur, Mr. Hari Krishan Malik and Ms. Deepti Chopra on Tuesday, 7th January' 2020 in the school premises. The resource team highlighted thebenefits of music and movement in child’s development.
The resource team began the session by explaining what defines music and how music came into being. They further enlightened that music is that form of art which helps in the expression of feelings through the medium of Swaras and Rhythm.
Exposing children to music during their earlydevelopment years helps them learn the sounds and meaningful words further benefiting the mind andbody. They also emphasized that dancing to music helps children build motor skills and allows them to practice self-expression.
The workshop included creative activities on how to incorporate music in classroom to teach various concepts. A sensory development activity was alsodone where in teachers were given props like bells,plates, spoons etc. to create a rhythmic piece. They enjoyed carrying out the self-composed jinglesaccording to the topic given to them. A Ted talk was also shown to explain how music helps in increasingthe brain power. The workshop was enthusiastically participated by all.
Principal Sir, Mr. Sanjay Yadav , Headmistress Ma’am,Ms. Anju Gupta, Preprimary In -charge, Ahlcon Public School, Ms. Kuhu Ganguli and Section Coordinator, Ms. Pooja Shandilya shared their worthy experiences and valuable feedback. They motivated teachers to usemore and more music in the classrooms in an innovative way to make learning interesting and stimulating for 21st century learners.
