Diwali Celebrations
Diwali is a festival of lights that conveys an important message; “Triumph of good over evil, light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance and hope over despair”. The students of Nursery A enlightened everyone with their special assembly onWednesday, 23rd October’19 to celebrate the festival Diwali. The assembly was conducted with zest and the entire school campus adorned with the colourful Rangoli designs made by the children and teachers of Pre-Primary outside their classes.
The assembly began with Gayatri Mantra followed by thought for the day spoken by Prisha Tyagi. Students enthralled the audience with their skit on ‘Green Diwali’ and urged their fellow students to say “No to Crackers”. They explained how rising air pollution is not conducive for our health and environment and scares the pet animals too.
Children mesmerized everyone with their dance onthe song, “Dipawali gali gali..”. A small video was also shown to them which highlighted the significance of the festival and the story behind it.Children were later asked questions based on the same.
They also danced enthusiastically on the song “Happy Diwali” which added much joy and exuberance to the assembly. They even presented handmade Diwali greeting cards to Principal Sir, Headmistress Ma’am and Section Coordinator. Principal Sir and H.M Ma’am blessed all the children and encouraged them to spread the happiness of this festival by distributing sweets and winter clothes to the needy people and celebrate pollution free Diwali this year. The assembly was concluded with the National Anthem.
Children experienced the real essence of the festival. They thoroughly enjoyed the assembly and Rangoli making activity.
