Workshop on Storytelling

Ahlcon International school, Mayur Vihar Phase -1, organized a storytelling workshop, “Playing with Stories”, for its Pre-primary teachers on March 28, 2019 in the phonetic lab.

The resource person, Ms. Jyoti Sharma, highlighted the essential elements and demonstrated the innovative ideas and techniques of storytelling. 

Stories are central to human cognition and communication. Stories not only help us shape our perspective of the world around us but also help us learn how to act wisely. 

A well-presented and narrated story has the power of reaching its objective and is remembered for long. 

She shared how a good story teller uses voice modulation and body language along with the use of different props. 

She also demonstrated various innovative ideas of telling a story like:

·        Draw and tell

·        Cut and tell

·        Fold and tell

The main highlight of the session was story enactment where teachers not only created an “on spot” story but also enacted it. 

The session saw active participation among teachers. They learnt about creative techniques and did various activities, giving the art of

Storytelling a new twist.

H.M ma’am and A.H.M ma’am also appreciated the innovative ideas and techniques used for storytelling. The workshop was informative and enjoyed by all.
