Rakhi Making Activity

 

Relationships are the essence of human life and Raksha Bandhan is one such festival that provides an opportunity to deepen relationships, bringing families together in a bond of unwavering love. To celebrate this festival oflove, care and protection, we at Ahlcon, organized a ‘Rakhi Making Activity’ for our students of Nursery & Prep classes on Friday31st July 2020 through virtual Teams platform. On this devout occasion of 'Rakshabandhan'students not only shared the essence of the occasion  through their beautifully created Rakhis but also sang and danced too. They were briefed about the significance of the festival andthe story that narrates the reason behind the celebrations. Little Ahlconites displayed their talent and made eco-friendly Rakhis exhibiting originality  and their creative little minds. They created these auspicious threads, keeping in mind the prevailing social issues related to SDGs such as Gender Equality, Education for all, Swatch Bharat, Protection of Life on Earthand the list goes on. The essence of festival was given a new meaning when teachers through a Powerpoint Presentation, encouraged children totie Rakhi to any animal they choose to protectand care by dragging it to the given pictureframe. This activity was followed by an open-ended discussion on how our youngest earth saviours can protect or take care of all living creatures on earth. To maintain the sweetness quotient of this festival, even parents became partners and demonstrated some easy and healthy recipes with children like - Oreo Barfiand Besan Laddo. The sole purpose of conducting such an event was to bring out the hidden potential and educate these young creative minds about the importance of festivals and relationships in life.

Virtual P.T. M. cum Holiday Homework Exhibition

 

Parent Teacher Meetings are a great platform for parents and teachers to share insights and information for the holistic development ofchildren. Keeping this in mind, Pre-Primary Department of Ahlcon International Schoolconducted their Virtual Parent TeacherMeeting cum Holiday Homework Exhibitionon Friday, 24th July 2020 on virtual Teams platform. 

The day began with a showcase of video gallerywhich was a manifestation of creativity, innovation, and artistic expression. The H.H.W. Exhibition displayed more than 100 artworks and projects of students from both Nursery and Prep classes. During the summer break, students were given curriculum as holiday assignment,based on hands on activities includinginnovative worksheets and craft work focussingon the overall development of children and helping them enhance their deep learning of different subjects. The exhibition took place in each class through virtual Teams platform wherean exceptional display of the artwork, project sheets, activities performed by our little Ahlconites during the summer break time was presented in front of the parents. Appreciation works like wonders for kids. Keeping this in mind, children were awarded a teacher-designed Appreciation Certificate by the parent for all their hard work and small achievements done during the summer break. This helped them develop good working habits, made them more responsible and accountable for their everyday routine. Parents were extremely thrilled about this new initiative of exhibiting and acknowledging the efforts put in by little Ahlconites. They also expressed their appreciation through a padlet wall designed by the teachers by posting in their valuable comments. The whole concept behind this magnificent display was to appreciate the efforts of parents and talent and skills of students during this time of pandemic.

Afterwards, one to one interaction with the class teachers apprised them about the overall performance and academic progress of their ward. Parents were highly appreciative about the fact that the online classes have led to learning with fun and enjoyment. They praisedthe rigorous efforts of school and staff in implementing active learning methodologies though various digital tools and platforms providing learners with distinguished support and guidance. Respected Principal Sir, Mr. Sanjay Yadav, Headmistress Ma’am, Ms. Anju Gupta and Section Coordinator Ma’am, Ms. Pooja Shandilya visited the exhibition and lauded the praiseworthy efforts of the studentsand parents leaving them in high spirits.
