Orientation Report
“Children are the Priority, Change is the Reality, and Collaboration is the Strategy”
Corona virus has altered life for us all including our school system and children. But, at Ahlcon International School, we strongly believe that education must continue under any circumstances. The Preprimary Department of Ahlcon International School welcomed the New Nursery & Prep children with open arms and smiling faces. They showed their readiness to meet the COVID-19 challenge and ensured that the learning should never stop. Keeping this in mind, an "Introduction cum Orientation Session" was conducted on Friday, 3rd April'20 for Nursery & Prep parents in an online video conferencing platform.
The new class teachers were introduced for the academic session 2020-21 and they enlightened the parents by explaining the School Ethos and Core Values. Teachers laid emphasis on the strong association between parents and school patrons, seeking support and suggestions from the stakeholders to provide best education and growth opportunities for the learners. During this Orientation session, the parents learnt about what they can expect throughout the year. They were given a glimpse as to how Nursery is a milestone in a child’s life as it is the initial stage of organised instruction, designed primarily to introduce their children to a school-type environment. Parents were given an overview of the various subjects and the activities which would be undertaken in the year ahead. The Co-Scholastic activities were also discussed that gave parents an idea of the curriculum which is self-directed with hands-on learning activities that not only give our little Ahlconites a platform to fully utilize their creative talents and energies, but also help them in their holistic development.
The class teachers assured the parents that the school understands their aspirations and the best amenities and education would be provided to their wards. They also laid stress on the role of the parents in their child’s social, emotional and academic life.
The Orientation programme proved to be a sincere effort made by the school in educating the parents to look after and guide their children in a proper manner. It also helped in evolving a common teaching strategy and helped the parents in identifying suitable follow up methods to reinforce the learning process of their children. Overall it was a fruitful session where teachers answered to parents’ queries (one to one) leaving them in high spirits.
