Road Safety
We observed
Road safety Day on the 16th of December and the children
learned how to be safe on the roads. They were taught about the traffic rules
and the importance of traffic lights. The teachers took them to the basketball
court and made them sit on the carpet. A road was created with the help of
cones and a zebra crossing was drawn with chalk and there were some
"vehicles" parked on the road. The traffic police man Neil from Prep-C mounted the table to man the traffic. He showed the amber
light and the drivers became ready, they started on green light but stopped
where he showed red light. The pedestrians then crossed from the zebra
crossing.
We were also
delighted to see real traffic police officers walking into the basket ball
court. They gave information about following safety norms on the road.
