Continuous Professional Learning Development Program 2015-16

The success of a leadership is when it inspires and encourages innovation in teaching practices among its team members. With this view in mind, workshops are conducted on a regular basis to keep the learning process alive.
Departing from the norm, the headmistress, Ms. Anju Gupta came up with a novel idea of having in-house creative workshops; wherein, the resource persons as well as the participants were the teachers themselves. The teachers (Primary and Preprimary) were divided into 5 groups of 6 members each and were given the autonomy of choosing the topic of their workshop. Following are the details of the five workshops conducted from 12th January to 14th January, 2016.

  1. Topic: Theatre in Education
Resource persons: Ms. A. Sangita, Ms. Karampreet Kaur, Ms. Bhavya Kamra, Ms. Jyoti Sharma and Ms. Monika Mehrotra  
About the workshop; The aim of this workshop was to understand the importance of Theatre in education and to understand the ways in which it can be incorporated in the curriculum. The workshop elaborated on how simple activities like dance, drama or music can be used to explain different concepts.




  1. Topic: Exploring Creativity
Resource Persons: Ms. Anju Pahwa, Ms. Neeti Vij, Ms. Shikha Kwatra, Ms. Deepti Chopra, Ms. Deepti Mathur and Ms. Smriti Chandra
About the workshop: The basic idea behind the theme of this workshop was enhance communicvation skills and develop the feeling of oneness amongst the team members. The highlight was the composing of Workshop Anthem by the creative inputs from each of the participating groups.









  1. Topic: Be fit with a healthy kit
      Resource persons: Ms. Tanu Mathur, Ms. Vimmi Arora, Ms. Pooja Shandilya,Ms. Vandana Dua, Ms. Anisha Kapoor and Ms. Gayatri Janjua
      About the workshop: True to its name, this workshop stressed upon the
      Importance of  being physically fit and healthy. The workshop explained about
       the healthy habits one should follow and resource persons as well as the
       participants shared and made interesting recipes of healthy breakfast.





  1. Topic: Spectrum of Colours
Resource Persons: Ms. Kakoli Logani, Ms. Pooja Singh, Ms. Vinita Dadlani, Ms. Pooja Anand, Ms. Preety Shah and Ms. Priyanka Tiwary
About the workshop: This workshop was designed by the teachers to develop
and enhance the colour sense of the participants. It elaborated upon the importance and effect of each colour of the spectrum on an individual. The workshop also taught few easy and quick ways of making rangoli which is a creative expression of colours.
     







  1. Topic: Innovative Games and Play
Resource Persons: Ms. Sucheta Tripathy, Ms. Hema Bhargava, Ms. Preeti Mehra, Ms. Priyanka Verma Chaudhary, Ms. Monika Rai and Ms. Ritu Patheja
About the workshop: This workshop was full of engaging and innovative activities, which motivated the participants to do physical as well as mental activities. This workshop spoke about the importance of Play in education and it gave many activities that could be creatively moulded and used in the classrooms.
     
      

This unique team-building exercise was a huge learning experience for all the teachers. These string of workshops taught the ways of keeping the learner engaged actively, imaginatively and creatively in the classrooms.
