Workshop on Educational Puppetry
Puppets are
always a good source/ teaching aid to inculcate values
in children. Hence a
workshop on educational puppetry was
conducted on 7th February 2015 by Ms.
Divya Narula and Ms.
Shikha Kwatra. (Pre-primary teachers). The workshop
was attended
by pre- primary teachers, A.H.M.and H.M. and special guest our
Principal sir.
The workshop
was about how to make puppets using discarded
material like gloves, paper
plates, wool, balls, leftover cloth, plastic
bottles/ glasses etc. and use them
to teach different concepts of
language, numeracy and moral values.
There were
some group activities in which teachers were
encouraged to make puppets using
discarded material. Short skits
and puppet shows were conducted using the same
puppets to teach
different concepts like opposites, numbers and sounds etc. the
participants displayed great enthusiasm and zeal in creating their
own puppet
on the spot. Their co-operation and creativity amazed
one and all.
It is really great concept to learning in play-way!
