Pleasure with Nature
Activities in the lap of nature are a great way to help the children experience the joys of the natural world. The Class Teachers of Preprimary-B, Ms. Kakoli and Ms. Priyanka had taken the children on a nature walk on the 29th of April, 2014. They had collected withered leaves and flowers on their way. They were very proud of the treasure they had collected.
On 30th April, teachers of Preprimary-C, Ms. A. Sangita and Ms. Tanu Mathur planned a nature walk with their children in the school premises. Children observed the difference between plants and trees. They observed the different kinds of leaves - big and small. They also collected dried leaves, fallen flowers and small twigs. They then made beautiful bracelets/wristbands with the help of leaves and cello tape and showed it to their friends of other classes. It brought out the creativity in them and they were super excited with the treasure they had collected and the bracelets they created.

How interesting it was!Firstly kAKOLI and PRIYANKA hit upon the idea of inspiring children to collect a treasure....dry leaves and flowers from near the trees and plants. We could generate critical thinking with their treasure in their hands. They could answer why the leaves had withered and we could quickly connect it to healthy eating. So the lesson learnt was- If we don't get proper food we become weak and pale.
ReplyDeleteThen with this rich experience already observed, SANGEETA and TANU improvised the display of their treasure collected. Students made their own bracelets by sticking leaves and flowers to the cellotape band tied by their teacher.
It was an AHA mmoment for all of us !!!!!
KEEP UP YOUR GOOD WORK DEAR COLLEAGUES ...AND THE STUDENTS JUST LOVE IT !!
